Neglecting church is neglecting God's family design and authority, thus neglecting a vital part and plan for your life.
The concept of church from the word in Greek means those "called out" from the world, a "gathering" of believers who are first of all committed to following Christ and His command to "make disciples." Jesus taught "apart from me you can do nothing," so our ministry is fully dependent on Christ working through us with the gifts He has given us to serve one another and communicate the Gospel.
Church is not easy, working along people with different backgrounds and personalities, but it is the place God has called us to do His ministry and service. Please read the South Valley Baptist Church Covenant.
"As every man hath received the gift, [even so] minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, [let him speak] as the oracles of God; if any man minister, [let him do it] as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." (1 Peter 4:10-11)
